College Boys - July 16

Florida 25 - UCLA 21
JT Kapnis led his Gators past the Bruins with 10 pts and as many rebounds. Jeff White, 9pts and Rocky Mendez, 11pts supplied most of their teams offense to keep UCLA in game. Peter O’Donnell played very well for Florida scoring 5 key points, along with fellow Gators, Jake MacFarlane who added 4pts and William Walsh who drilled a deep three early in the second half.

Texas 40 - Duke 15
The Longhorns opened the season in impressive fashion with a 25 point victory over Duke. John Crimble, led the Horns in scoring with 13pt followed closely by big man Rory Cawley who owned the paint scoring 10pts with 7rebs. Armando Lezema, 11pts, scored nearly all of Dukes points with Pat Viselli chipping in with 2pts. Crimble and Cawley wern’t the only Texas players with nice games however, Rocco Geary, Jeury Batista and Connor Alexander all helped their team win with 4pts apiece. Not to mention Jack McCarthy’s twisting, over the head, one handed three pointer from 22 feet. William McCarthy also scored 2pts for Texas in the win.

Memphis 26 - Ohio State 21
The three-headed Memphis monster of Matt Muse, 8pts 4assts, Stephen Moutsoulas, 10pts 6rebs, and Tyler Thomas, 10pts, proved too strong for the Buckeyes to defeat. Austin Connelly, ran the show for Ohio State with 7pts and played strong defense on Muse. Juan Martinez, led the Buckeyes in scoring with 10pts.

Texas 26 - Uconn 22
Texas jumped out to a huge lead over the Huskies with a tremendous first half effort; supplied by Rory Cawley, 12pts and John Crimble, 8pts. The Huskies managed to get right back into the game late in the second half behind terrific defensive effort by all the Uconn players and ledd offensively by John Swasey and his 15pts to go along with 6pts from Tommy O’Hare’s sweet shooting.
