Rockers 30 - Sol 23

Rockers eclipse Sol. Marissa Garey scored 20 pts, grabbed 8 rebs and made 2 blks to keep her team ahead of the Sol. Shirley Jones scored 7 pts after showing up at the half. Maia Schuelz, Tory Harding and Ally Wilkins also scored for the Sol. Micaela Gaffney rounded out the scoring for the Rockers with 10 pts and 4 assts.

Storm 30 - Comets 23

In the last game of the season the Storm got their first win by outlasting the Comets. Erin Fahey scored 12 pts, Ally LaMonica 6 pts and Brenna Burke 4 supplying the bulk of their teams output. Maeve Harrington dominated inside for the Comets with 15 pts and 8 rebs. Julissa had 6 pts for the Comets in defeat.

Lynx 30 - Sting 15

In an effort to get the top seed in the playoffs the Lynx played tremendously, led by Amanda Wilkins’ 18 pts, 5 rebs and 2 steals. Leslie Baez was top lady for the Sting scoring 13 pts and stealing the ball 4 times form her feline counterparts. Courtney Shearstone added a bucket for the Sting. Maria Rodriguez and Hannah Wilkins each scored 6 pts for the Lynx.

Liberty 34 - Shock 14

the Liberty clinched first place and the #1 seed in next weeks playoffs with their win over the Shock. In a triumphant return to action Kayla Murphy scored 11 pts and grabbed 7 rebs to help her team. the sisters Bryant, Jazz and Alix, also grabbed 7 rebs each and did their share of scoring combining for 18 pts (14 and 4 respectively). Erin Bottichelli had all but two points for the Shock ending up with 12 for the game with 6 rebs, Shannon Sholds provided the other basket.

College Boys - August 15

UCLA 40 - UNLV 28

The Bruins(5-1) clinched first place and the top seed in the playoffs with their win over UNLV. The potent pair of Marvin Baez, 14 pts 6 rebs and 4 assts, and FJ Murphy, 12 pts 5 rebs, took control of the game from the start and never looked back. Once again the supporting cast of Kevin Nygeun 4 pts, Brandon Zicky 4 pts and Nick Lathan 6 pts provided crucial scoring for the Bruins. Steven Harris 12 pts was lead scorer for the Rebels(2-3). Christian Almonte 8 pts, and Chris Matton 6 pts also played well in the loss.

Kentucky 34 - Boston College 20

The Wildcats(3-3) finished the season with a win over the second place Eagles(4-2). Connor Reardon was top scorer with 16 pts, he also contributed 2 blks, 2 rebs and 2 assts. Shakey White was the top man for the losers with 12 pts and 4 rebs. Chad Coehlo scored 5 pts and made 3 stls in a losing effort. Brendon Broderick balanced out the Wildcat attack supplying 14 pts and 5 rebs. Jared Farese and Austin Connelly each scored 2 pts.

UCONN 34 - Ohio State 23

The UCONN Huskies (3-2) defeated the Buckeyes(1-5) thanks to the scoring output of Ben “Hurricane” Kapnis’ 24 pts. The Schaejbe brothers, Trace 6 pts and Cael 4 pts, combined for 10 pts to round out the scoring for the Huskies. Mike Daly was the lead man for Ohio State scoring 7 pts. The other scorers for the Buckeyes were Nathan Montero 2, Nick Bottichelli 2, Hugh Harrington 2, Sean Mullins 6 and Jared Raeford 4 pts.

Georgetown 36 - Texas 28

The Hoyas(3-3) capped their season with a victory over Texas(2-4). Nick Salamida dumped 22 pts on the Longhorns. Billy Muse, Ryan O’Connell and Matt Muse all scored 8 pts for their team in the loss. Tyler Thomas also chipped in 4 pts. Austin Shea and Johnathon Swasey played well in supporting roles scoring 8 and 6 pts respectively.

Comets defeated the Liberty by way of forfeit.

Lynx 24 - Sol 12

The Lynx moved into a first place tie with the Liberty after their win. Amanda Wilkins scored 10 pts to lead her team to victory. Maia Schuelz, Shirley Jones and Tory Harding all had 4 pts for the Sol. Maria Rodriguez scored 6 pts to help her squad and Hannah Wilkins drilled a three pointer in the second half to get herself on the board.

Sting 17 - Storm 10

The Sting beat the Storm thanks to Courtney Shearstone’s, 6 pts, play inside and the exterior play of Leslie and Arlin Baez, 4 pts each. Erin Fahey was top scorer for the Storm with 4 pts. Brenna Burke and Ally Lamonica also scored for the Storm.

Shock 35 - Rockers 26

In a tough game the Shock defeated the Rockers. Erin Botichelli 14 pts, and Shannon Sholds 10 pts combined for 24 pts to go along with 5 pts from Ashley O’Keefe to stop the music. Marissa Garey scored 14 pts to lead the Rockers, and Micaela Gaffney chipped in 8 pts. Jean Elise Moriel played great defense and scored 4 pts.

North Carolina 16 - Michigan State 8

Mirlene Bozarjian played great in the paint scoring 6 pts and leading her team to victory. Chloe Dragon hit a free throw to contribute to her teams win. Kelly McLaughlin led the losing team with 6 pts.

UCONN 14 - Georgetown 10

The Huskies made it out of a tough game and kept their win streak going. The Hoyas were behind the whole entire game but always kept it close thanks to the shooting of Julies Shea and the rebounding of Hannah Louf 4 pts and Jackie Panneton 2 pts. However Christa Leger 7 pts and Shyla Stokes 2 pts proved to be too much for the Hoyas.

College Boys - August 14 - Make-up Games

UCLA 38 - Georgetown 28

Marvin Baez erupted for 21 pts, 7 rebs, 4 assts and 4 stls in a huge win that give UCLA control of their own destiny. Nick Salamida played well for the Hoyas dropping 15 pts, his sidekick John Swasey also supplied 10 pts for the Hoyas. The paint was being patrolled by FJ Murphy, for the Bruins, who scored 10 pts and grabbed just as many boards. Kevin Nyguen scored 4 pts for UCLA.

Boston College 21 - Ohio State 15

The Eagles remained in the rear view mirror of the Bruins by defeating the Buckeyes. Shakey White 7 pts and Chadillac Coehlo 8 pts combined for 15 of their teams 21 pts in the win. Jefferson Akers scored 12 pts in the loss and Hugh Harrington chipped in with a basket. Jean Carlos Moya scored the other 8 pts to round out the scoring for BC.

College Girls - August 7

UCONN 16 - Boston College 12

The Huskies knocked off the previously undefeated Eagles thanks to an impressive perfromance from Christa Leger, 8 pts including the game winner. Shyla Stokes, Olivia Comeau, Kelly Sweeney and Jessica Tassinieri all added one basket each to the Huskies total. Rachel Zipper shone in the loss for the Eagles scoring 6 out of her teams 12 pts. Shannon Parr hit one of two free throws to contribute to BC.

North Carolina 14 - Texas 8

Alex Bozarjian had 6 pts to lead her Tar Heels past the Longhorns. Robin Hendrey and Kendall Higgins played tremendous defense for Texas in the loss. Chloe Dragon and Mirlene Bozarjian each scored once for the Heels.

Michigan State 10 - Georgetown 6

Kelly McLaughlin 8 pts, dominated the action in her team’s 4 point win. Angelica Wrankowski added the other 2 pts for the Spartans. The Hoyas spread out the scoring among three different girls; Jackie Panneton, Hannah Louf and Arianna Gaffney.
