Pro Boys - July 30

Celtics 29 - Spurs 28

With a chance to win the game at the buzzer the Spurs missed an easy oppurtunity to win. Brad Skeffington scored 6pts and edwin Demoya 11pts to lead their Spurs. Wiley veterans Brad Daigle 8pts, Ariel Almonte 5pts and Josh Sanchez 6pts just out lasted the younger Spurs.

Suns 46 - Raptors 31

The remaining Raptors played vigilantly against the overpowering Suns. Criss Bozarjian 14pts and Randy Valero 9pts all three-pointers shined for their team along with Andres Deschenes and his 6pts. Marvin Baez, Kelly Abreu, Nick Dullea and Alvin Rodriguez all showed great heart on the court, finishing the game strongly.

Lakers 39 - Jazz 38

The Jazz were in control most of the way thanks to the stellar play of Edwin Guzman and Jake Salamida who each scored 12pts. Figgy also lit it up for the Jazz with 10pts but the lakers were more focused and stayed close enough to strike when it mattered. Kyle Reardon had a monster game with 21pts 6rbs and an intimidating block in the last couple minutes of the game. However he could not do it alone, in fact it was Jeremy Daley 14pts who sunk the game winning shot at the buzzer to give his team the victory.

Knicks 41 - Warriors 28

Responding to their lone defeat last week the Knicks came out prepared to prove they belong on top of the league against the Warriors. Dario and Raphi Medrano combined for 25 pts to go along with 4 assists for the latter. Tyler Middleton drained two 3-pointers for his team. Jeff Peres and Juan Juan played strong inside for the Warriors but didn’t have enough to hand the Knicks their second loss in as many weeks.

Make-up Games July 29, College Boys

UCLA 32 - Ohio State 21

Jefferson Akers 7pts and Nathan Montero 9pts did all they could to keep it close but in the end The Bruins were simply too much. FJ Murphy 8pts and Marvin Baez 12pts were the key players but Nick Lathan supplied a few crucial buckets to finish with 6pts.

Uconn 38 - Kentucky 28

The Uconn Huskies got off the snide thanks to Kael Schaejbe 9pts and help from all his teammates including Michael Marvcini and his 4pts. Kentucky couldn’t brak through despite big time efforts from Connor Reardon’s 7pts to go along with scores from Sean Doherty and Johnathon Nunez.

UNLV 45 - Texas 24

Playing extrememly well as a team UNLV beat down on the Longhorns. Christian Almonte led his team in scoring with 19pts. He also kept the rest of his team involved geting all but one of his teammates a score. Acting as his sidekicks Steve Harris had 8pts and Steve Moutsalas 6pts helped to win the game. Billy Muse was a force on the other side scoring 17 of his temas 24 pts.

Boston College winner-Georgetown loser

The Boston College Eagles remain undefeated thanks to the Hoyas inability to field a complete team Sunday night. however these teams did scrimmage so evryone got to play.

Sting 21 - Comets 12

With Leslie Baez and her cousin Arlin Baez combinig for 17pts the Comets didn’t have much chance. Shannon Tucker showed great heart by never giving up scoring 8pts to lead the Comets. April Hannable drilled two shots from 15 feet to help her team.

Liberty 28 - Rockers 18

Jasmine Bryant lead all scorers with 14pts as The Liberty kept their perect record intact against Marissa Garey 11pts and the Rockers. Michaela Gaffney of the Rockers and Michaela Donahue of the Liberty both added 6pts for their teams.

Lynx 23 - Storm 20

The Lynx eaked out a victory over the Storm thanks to the tough inside play of Amanda Wilkins 15 pts, and the crafty guard play of Maria Rodriguez. Erin Fahey and Ally Lamonica scored 7pts and 6pts respectively to pace the Storm.

Shock 19 - Sol 11

The Sol were burnt by Erin Bottichelli of the Shock who scored 12pts as her team defeated their competitiors. Maia Schuelz and Micala combined for 8pts as the Sol were retired. Ashley O’Keefe contributed 5pts for the Shock.

Make-up game played July 29:

Lynx 25 - Comets 7

In an early afternoon contest the Lynx led by Maria Lopez and her 11pts beat the Comets. Nicole Votto led her team with 5pts.

Kentucky 34 - Ohio State 23

The Kentucky Wildcats handed the Ohio State Buckeyes their first loss of the season, thanks to a complete team effort. Connor Reardon had 12pts, Brendan Broderick 8pts to go along with Austin Connelly 6pts, Jared Farese 4pts. Nathan Montero of Ohio State lit it up from the perimeter with 10pts combined with Mike Daly’s 6pts from the interior in the loss.

UCLA 41 - Texas 24

The yet untested UCLA Bruins continue to breeze through the rest of the league thanks to impressive performances by Marvin Baez 11pts, 5ast and FJ Murphy who led the Bruins with 16pts. Ryan O’Connell 10pts and Billy Muse 9pts played well for the Longhorns. John Krimble nailed two three pointers in the second half finishing with 12pts.

Boston College 24 - Uconn 8

Shakir “Shakey” White and Chad “Chadillac” Coelho Paced the Winners scoring 9 and 8 points respectively. Kael Schaejbe and Rory Cowley did the Scoring for the Huskies. Matt Wilson, Jon Carlos Moya and Patrick Dunning all added two points to their teams total.

Georgetown 28 - UNLV 27

The Hoyas managed to stay undefeated with a close victory over the Runnin’ Rebels. Nick Salamida was the difference, leading all scorers on the night with 18pts. Isaih Giaff-Hodge played very well for UNLV scoring 5pts and shagging 5rbs before he left the game with a twisted ankle. Christian Almonte 11pts, Aidan Scrimgeor 5pts and Chris Mutton 4pts all played well for the Rebels. Jarrod Louf chipped in for the winners with 8pts.

College Girls - July 24

Boston College 16 - Michigain State 2

The Boston College eagles remained undefeated thanks to the combined scoring output of Cassandra Haude 4pts and Rachel Zipper 4pts.

North Carolina 14 - Georgetown 8

Mirlene for North Carolina scored 8pts to lead the winners. Erica Palm scored 4pts more to put the Heels ahead for good. Four players had baskets for Georgetown; Arianna Gaffney, Jackie Pannenton, Nickie Talbot and Julie Shea.

Uconn 8 - Texas 5

Grace Cawley supplied all the points for Texas with a whirlwind performance on the outside. However the interior play was dominated by Shyla Stokes 4pts and Christa Leger 2. Hannah Van Der Stelt scored from the perimeter for the Huskies.

Spurs 39 - Raptors 35

The Spurs jumped out to a big lead in the first half thanks to Brad Skeffington and his 14 pts. The combination of David Kendrick 11pts, Greg Speliotis 15pts and Marvin Baez 5pts got the Raptors back into the game during the 3rd and 4th quarters. However Billy Garey 9pts proved to be too much for the winless Raptors scoring all his points in the last frame.

Celtics 33 - Suns 21

In a one sided contest the veteran Celtics defeated the Suns, thanks to the extraordinary outside shooting of Ariel Almonte 13pts, Lenny Baez 7pts, and Kam Lynch’s long three pointer. Josh Perez nailed two treys for the Suns but neede more help to deal with the unefeated Celts.

Jazz 34 - Warriors 24

The Jazz spaced out the scoring among 6 of their 7 players to beat up on the Warriors. Playing amongst the mist the Wilkins’ brothers combined for 11pts, along with Figgy’s team leading 10pts and another 7pts chipped in by Jake Salamida. The Warriors tried to get it close in the fourth but Juan Juan’s 8pts and Danny McCarthy’s 9pts just wasn’t enough to stop the music.

Lakers 30 - Knicks 28

On this night the best was saved for last, the undefeated Knicks fell to a giant Lakers Squad led by Kyle Reardon 14pts, 3blocks. Dario and Raphi Madrano combined for 17pts to go along with Andrew Barbuzzi’s 7pts but needed three more tobeat the Lakers. Jeremy Daly added 8 pts to Kyle’s impressive performnace, and Ben Dibble 6pts made a strong lay-up in the final minute as he got fouled, Dibble hit the free throw and sealed the game for The Purple and Gold.

Shock 26 - Storm 10

The Shock easily defeated the Storm thanks to 16 pts from Erin Bottichelli. Shannon Sholds and Ashley O’Keefe added 10 pts to round out the scoring for the victors. Erin Fahey, 4 pts 5 reb, played great for the Storm but couldn’t vault her team into contention with the undefeated Shock.

Liberty 26 - Sol 13

Shirley Jones and Maia Shuelz each scored five to lead their teams. however Jasmine Bryant 15pts and Deedra Donahue 7pts proved to be an even more formidable pair combining for 22 pts to pace the Liberty in their victory.

Rockers 23 - Sting 34

Leslie Baez was a one woman show scoring 20 pts in her teams win. Courtney Shearstone did plenty of work in the paint scoring 8pts to go along with two key jumpshots from April Hannable. the threesome of Marissa Garey 10pts, Holbrook Phelan and Michaela Gaffney 6pts each got the Rockers back in the game but just didn’t avoid the Sting.

Due to rain the Pro Girls games will be cancelled on Thursday July, 19. These games will be made up on Sunday July, 22. Make up games will be played at the same time, and will be held at Memorial Park.

College Girls - July 17

Michigan St. 8 - Texas 4

Kelly McLauhglin put on a shooting clinic on Tuesday pouring in all 8 pts for the Spartans. Kathleen Marah and Caitlin Connelly each scored a basket for the Longhorns. Brianna Rodriguez and Sara Smialek did tremendous work for Michigan State on defense.

North Carolina 13 - Uconn 11

Alexa Gilbert led the victorious Tar Heels in scoring with 4 pts but she got plenty of help. Alex Bozarjian, Erica Palm, Mikaela Dionne Abigail Meadowcraft and Chloe Dragon all chipped in for the winners. Shyla Stokes had a great game for the Huskies scoring 8 pts and doing just about everything else the team needed.

Boston College 25 - Georgetown 12

Once again Ashley Espinal 16 pts proved to be too much for her opponent. However she did receive help form her team, Rachel Zipper chipped in 4 pts, along with Katie Fabre and Michaela Thibault who each got a basket. Julie Shea, Hannah Louf and Arianna Gaffney took care of the scoring for the Hoyas.
